Starting point: On free parking close to Devil’s Arse

With the dire forecast of persistent rain the A Team cried off to a man. Sadly 1940 “Spirit of Dunkirk” where 338,000 British soldiers were rescued from the Dunkirk beaches was sadly absent

 

Jock and your diarist decided to go ahead with our planned wander. As we set off the light rain lasted around 10 mins before the sun came out, unfortunately I’d left my sun cream in the car. The rain held off until 5 mins from the end of our route where we darted in to the Castle Hotel for light refreshments. Suitable refreshed we emerged from the pub to grey skies but no rain, back to our cars.

Next week’s walk will be Castleton once again but we’ll do the same route but in reverse. We hope to meet up with A Team in the Cheshire Cheese at 1:30
