I have saved this walk for public consumption. Anyone can follow the route using the OS app, providing you have a registered account (Free) in future.
The day started sunny and bright and rain was forecast, but the three venturers had come prepared with waterproofs. The Three Amigos set off from Chinley down the Peak Forest Tramway. Later on, a discussion was had about a Tramway v Railway and it would appear that a Tramway is
horse drawn and on this particular one also gravity driven, full info here.

We walked down to Chapel Milton Viaducts, having encountered a few obstacles (fallen trees) on the way. We cut under the A6 and picked up the route up to Eccles Pike, enjoying the smell of brake linings in the nostrils (Ferodo or Federal Mogul as it is now called, Americans!!) as we went.
Pie time was had on the Pike and the surrounding views were fantastic, except for Manchester which appeared to be in a cloud of rain!
We meandered down from the Pike and around Browne Hill heading toward Horwich Farm, we then passed not one but two cricket grounds on the way down to Bugsworth Basin, where we
surveyed the now closed Navigation Inn and walked back to the Paper Mill Inn for refreshments.
Next week’s walk will be led by Mike, meeting at New Mills Leisure Centre, SK22 4PU, 9.40am, with
a refreshment stop at the Dandy Cock 12.15 appx.
Happy Wandering!
